Burbank, California, in the San Fernando Valley, about 30 minutes by car from West Hollywood.
Hollywood Burbank Airport is opening a new $1.3 billion terminal, called Elevate BUR, on October 13, 2026. The new 355,000 square foot building keeps the same 14 gates but has more room and an eight-lane TSA checkpoint.
The current terminal operates until the move. Parking, valet and ground connections change on October 13, so check the airport's current instructions before you travel.

Terminal A has nine gates and Terminal B has five. Each terminal has its own security checkpoint, and both connect through the older airport complex.
A single consolidated terminal with 14 gates, a new TSA checkpoint with eight lanes between Gates 9 and 10, and an updated baggage claim area. The main entrance moves to Winona Avenue and Hollywood Way.
The furthest gate from the security checkpoint is about 300 feet closer than in the old layout. A reporter who timed the walk found about four minutes to Gate 1 and two minutes to Gate 14.
In the current airport, Terminal A and Terminal B each have a separate security checkpoint. The new terminal has one consolidated checkpoint, so passengers clear security once.
Antelope Valley Line station. From October 13, you can walk about half a mile to the new terminal via Cohasset Street, or call 818-729-2245 for a free on-demand shuttle.
Ventura County Line station. It connects through the Regional Intermodal Transportation Center (RITC) and a complimentary airport shuttle. Cross Empire Avenue from the station to the RITC, then board the shuttle.
Shuttles from the Metrolink stations run from 4:45 a.m. to 1 a.m. During irregular or delayed flight operations, service continues until 45 minutes after the last flight.
Both stop at the RITC transit center on the ground level. The RITC also has an elevated walkway to the terminal, reached by stairs or an elevator. The walkway has no escalator on the terminal side.
The new terminal will have a rideshare pickup lot near the terminal. Check the airport site for the exact location once the new terminal opens.
Rental car customers take a shuttle to the consolidated rental car facility across Hollywood Way from the new terminal. Before October 13, the rental car facility is in the RITC.
The new terminal, Elevate BUR, opens October 13, 2026. It replaces the existing terminal complex, which opened in 1930.
Metrolink serves two stations. Burbank Airport-North is on the Antelope Valley Line, and Burbank Airport-South is on the Ventura County Line. Both have shuttles to the terminal, and the shuttles run from 4:45 a.m. to 1 a.m.
No private or pay-per-use lounges are listed. Plan on gate seating and the restaurants past security.
The parking structure moves to a new seven-level garage across from the new terminal. Lot E closes permanently on October 13, and Lot C has already closed.
