How delays work at RNO

A ground stop holds flights bound for RNO at their origin airports. A ground delay program spaces arrivals out so the airport is not overloaded. Departure and arrival delay messages describe the average wait the FAA expects. None of these tell you whether your own flight is late, so always check your airline as well.

Local tips

  • The airport has four active construction projects, including the two concourses, a police and airport authority headquarters and a Ground Transportation Center. The front curb is unaffected, but the Loop Road passes active work zones, so drive slowly.
  • Do not assume you know your gate. Gates are being closed and consolidated in phases, and airlines can use any available gate. Look at the monitors rather than relying on last trip's concourse.
  • If you are driving to Tahoe, reserve a North Lake Tahoe Express seat at least 24 hours ahead. Walk-up seats are not guaranteed.
  • The Park & Walk Lot has no shuttle, so allow 10 to 15 minutes on foot, especially with luggage.
  • Pet relief ("Bark Park") areas are on the second floor between the concourses, and Mamava nursing pods are on each concourse.
