How delays work at SAN

A ground stop holds flights bound for SAN at their origin airports. A ground delay program spaces arrivals out so the airport is not overloaded. Local tips

  • The Trolley does not stop at the airport. Take Route 992 to Santa Fe Depot, which connects with the Trolley, COASTER and Amtrak.
  • Plan the lounge visit at the start of a layover, because the Terminal 2 lounges close by about 10:15 p.m.
  • Pet relief areas are available outside on the transportation plazas and indoors after security in both terminals.
  • Six lactation and nursing rooms are located after security in the two terminals, including two in Terminal 1 and one in Terminal 2 West.
