How delays work at PIT

A ground stop holds flights bound for PIT at their origin airports. A ground delay program spaces arrivals out so the airport is not overloaded. Departure and arrival delay messages describe the average wait the FAA expects. None of these tell you whether your own flight is late, so always check your airline as well.

Local tips

  • Ignore any guidance that mentions the PIT tram or people mover. It no longer operates.
  • Make sure you head to the new terminal: drivers should follow the new signs, because the old terminal roads are closed.
  • If you park in the Shuttle Lot, remember it has no walking route to the terminal; allow time for the shuttle both ways.
  • Meet arriving passengers at the Welcome Point on the arrivals level between the north and south terraces.
