Checkpoints and tips
Terminal 1 has North and South checkpoints on the Ticketing level, and at least one is open 24 hours a day. Terminal 2 has two checkpoints on Level 2. The Skyway checkpoint on the Concourse C/G connector is closed for the foreseeable future.
- MSP RESERVE is a free program that lets any passenger reserve a time slot. It runs at the Terminal 1 North checkpoint (3:45 a.m. to 7:45 p.m.) and at Terminal 2 Checkpoint 2 (3:45 to 8 a.m. and 12 to 4 p.m.). It is not for TSA PreCheck or CLEAR members.
- TSA PreCheck is open 4 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Terminal 1. At Terminal 2, Checkpoint 2 is limited to PreCheck, MSP RESERVE and Priority members and closes at 5:15 p.m.
- CLEAR kiosks are at both the North and South checkpoints in Terminal 1.
- Checkpoint 7 on Concourse G is only for international connecting travelers.
- The airport advises arriving two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international flights. Its average wait is 20 to 25 minutes, and up to 50 minutes at busy times.
