New Orleans, Louisiana KMSY #39 US airport by passengers
At 1 Terminal Drive in Kenner, Louisiana, about 11 miles west of downtown New Orleans.
Louis Armstrong New Orleans International opened its current terminal on November 6, 2019, on the north side of the airport, replacing the older 1959 terminal. It has one terminal building with three concourses (A, B and C), one central TSA checkpoint on Level 2, and one baggage claim and ground transportation level below. The airport is open 24 hours a day.
Because there is a single terminal, every airline uses the same ticketing hall and security checkpoint, and the three concourses connect behind security. Third-party guides commonly place Southwest and American in Concourse B, Delta, United and JetBlue in Concourse C, and international arrivals plus several low-cost carriers in Concourse A. The airport does not publish a concourse list on its airline page, so confirm your gate in your airline app.
Construction continues through 2026 and 2027. Projects listed by the airport include sewer work serving Concourses B and C, an expanded checked-baggage screening system, an express shuttle connector road, additional parking spaces and work on the TSA checkpoint doors and exit lanes. Expect occasional detours and check the airport website before you travel.
Main airlines: Southwest Airlines carries the most passengers. The airport's airline list also shows Air Canada, Alaska, Allegiant, American, Breeze, British Airways, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, Sun Country and United.
The FAA is not reporting a ground stop, ground delay program or other delay at MSY right now.
